The Baby Room – Part I

As you know, we are into everything baby here at Petit Lem. Lately, we’ve been noticing a trend in the blogesphere: the baby room decorating dilemma. We want it to be stylish, yet functional. And let’s face it: we spend a good deal of time in it. So we’ve decided to start a little Baby room series. You know, just for kicks.

First things first: the rocker/glider/whatever you want to call it. They can be very ugly, but there are some pretty sweet ones out there too:

Probably not the most practical (a little hard and a little low-backed), but wouldn’t this Eames Rocker fit perfectly in your living area/play room post baby-room?

Next up:

Hello, beautiful. (Look at that base.) Choose your colors. Plus, it’s made in North America.

And then, there’s our favorite, Jason Lewis. Le sigh.

Last but not least, there’s our trusty IKEA. They’ve re-mixed the Poang chair and added a rocking base. It’s no Jason Lewis, but for 179$, it’ll do the job. Plus, it is very comfortable. Here it is in Tuna light grey:

Do you make your own baby food?

We are loving the Beaba babycook, a compact baby food maker that works as a steamer, blender, warmer and defroster all in one!

Long gone are the days of having to use up countless dishes to make a small batch of your babe’s favourite butternut squash puree. And better yet, the Beaba has options. Meaning you can play around with the consistency, from super smooth for the littler ones to chunkier when your baby is ready.

Have you tried the Beaba?

UNIQUE FASHION – FOR CHILDREN

Celebrating 15 years in the business, Bean Sprout is now a leader in children’s clothing stores in the Toronto area.

What started off as a resale shop in 1995 is now a successful business only selling new children’s apparel for newborns up to 16 years.

We spoke to owner Trish Haddad, and she told us the name of the boutique came to her one night “I called my son ‘Bean’ for in-vitro and it also represents fast growing such as children”.

Her concept of the store is to feature “unique fashion at moderate price points.  Customer service is extremely important and we pride ourselves on offering personal service and a worry-free return policy not found in small boutiques.”

That policy is hard to find in boutiques- but is greatly appreciated by parents that just can’t bring they’re kids clothes shopping all the time.

Free cookies? We’re in.

Best part about bringing your kids shopping at Bean Sprout?  You’ll find a full play area, snacks, as well as breastfeeding station.

Owner Trish’s favorite part of  owning a children’s retail store is the interaction with her customers.
A store built on the sole principle leads to providing a sense of service to the community - which is exactly what Bean Sprout is accomplishing.

Now that Spring is upon us, let’s discuss this spring season’s must haves:

Trish: Wee Urban organic Sleepsacks – made in Canada, whimsical twirly dressed from numerous collections, and  comfy, colorful boys’ clothes.

And what is your favorite Petit Lem signature piece?

Trish: Petit Lem Signature makes the best pyjamas on the market.  The robes and nighties are also of wonderful quality.

Bean Sprout is your go to destination for unique fashion, including local designers, and Canadian made brands.

OUR LITTLE CHRISTMAS LEM

Meet Aras, our Little Lem of the week – Christmas edition.

Sporting Petit Lem Signature‘s adorable penguin hat, this is the sweetest picture!

Only 1 month old, Aras looks like one happy baby.  Is there anything more rewarding than seeing that smile?

Thank you for this gift!

We at Petit Lem Signature hope you enjoy your time with your loved ones this holiday season – we wish you all a very Merry Christmas.

A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY

It may be the time of year for giving, but the Pajama Program gives back all year long. We wanted to highlight this specific organization because we are really touched by the work they do.

The Pajama Program is a non profit organization which provides new pajamas and new books to children in need around the world.

These children are waiting to be adopted, and aren’t blessed with having a mother or father who is there to put them to bed.  Receiving comfy pjs and bedtime stories brings such light to their lives!

We donated Petit Lem Signature pjs this month. We were so happy to support such a fantastic program, and we will be continuing to send our pajamas and help in any way we can!

Their team is looking to reach their goal on a monthly basis, so reach out and donate!

We hope you are as eager as we are to help theses kids, who are so thankful for the Pajama Program’s kindness.

Visit their website: pajamaprogram.org and help these kids enjoy the holidays too!

FOOTIES FOR EVERYONE

Had to share this!

This week, Ellen asked Eva Mendes how she celebrated thanksgiving.

Turns out the beautiful star loves her flannel pyjamas!

Even better, Ellen might be able to help us make our holiday footies in women’s sizes:

Ellen’s PJ Party

Would you wear adult footed pjs?

And more importantly, would you wear them while driving?

So glad we caught this.  For more clips,  visit ellen.warnerbros.com.
